Dr Thomas van der Velde

Thomas is a doctor from the Netherlands. He did his medical training at the University hospital in Groningen. After finishing his training he worked in Emergency- and Geriatric care before enrolling in General Practice.

He loves travelling around the world and the opportunity that working in medicine contributes to that. He visited New Zealand in 2022 and was impressed by the natural beauty of the countryside and the kindheartedness of it’s people, what made him decide to come to Central Otago.

In his spare time he likes to be active indulging in running/hiking and cycling. The hills of New Zealand promise to be more of a challenge than the flat countryside of the Netherlands.
